Lynn Valentine (1922 - 1992)
Lynn Alma Valentine was born October 4, 1922, and died of AIDS-related
complications on June 13, 1992. He was an Affirmation member and lived
in Mesa, Arizona.
Tribute by Karl Decker:
Lynn was a kind of big brother to me and my sisters back in the 40s in Brookline, Massachusetts when he was studying fine art and living at our house. He worked around the yard, did the dishes, and taught us kids all kinds of neat things with paper, paints, cardboard--anything that could be bent to useful artistic expression. At Christmas time he undertook decorating the entire house (much to my mother's dismay!) with innovative candles, posters, Christmas messages, lights, etc. To us kids then he was a sort of magician, athlete, and an all round amazing fellow. I do recall, too, he was in the Navy and came back with a lot of photos he'd taken on shipboard with a smuggled Eastman Kodak 828 Bantam camera.
