Val D. MacMurray, "Warning: Labels Can be Hazardous to Your Health," (10:4/130-133 Winter 1977). MacMurray feels that labels like "'He is a homosexual' not only describes presumed past activity, but it includes an implied judgment about future behavior. Therefore, the label may be a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy."

"Utah Journalists More Conservative Than Eastern," (3:7-8/16 July-August 1983). "When questioned whether...whether homosexuality should be regulated by law, Utahns [journalists] were much more opinionated and outspoken in the negative [than their Eastern counterparts]." Also, the "survey also found that Mormons [journalists] were the only group to... 'firmly opposed to homosexuality-no other religious group in the survey was.'"

"Short Subjects," (3:7-8/29 July 1983). In an interview appearing in The Reader, a Chicago based paper, with Dennis Milam, vice-chairman of the Nazi American First Committee, Milam is quoted as saying: "These far-out types (homosexuals) will not exist under national socialism; they will be in the closet or in the grave. I've had some contact with the Mormon Church, and they also think this type of thing must go."

Rector's [talk...cited these activities as methods of 'wasting the earth....if when the Lord comes He finds nothing but birth control, abortion, sterilization, and homosexuals.'
