Mormons to Hold LGBT-related Conference in Arizona

Latter-day Saints from Phoenix will hold a conference to promote greater love and understanding of LGBT/SSA members of the Church. Featured speakers will include Mitch Mayne, who is openly gay and serves as executive secretary in his San Francisco ward, and Robert A. Rees, who served as a bishop and as a member of the Baltic States Mission Presidency and currently teaches Mormon Studies at GTU Berkeley.

The event, which is free of charge, will be held April 27 at the San Tan Elegante Conference Center in Gilbert from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The program will also include a panel discussion with LGBT/SSA Mormons from Arizona, inspiring music, and additional opportunities for sharing. A light lunch will be served.
