Prepared by Bus Leguás Contreras August 2005 On June 25, Affirmation Chile participated in the 5th Fair for Diversity and against Discrimination, which is our equivalent to Pride Day. It took place in the Plaza de Armas in Santiago. Besides many gay and lesbian organizations, the event was co-sponsored by Chile's Jewish Youth, aboriginal Mapuches groups, and a group representing the disabled. Affirmation set up two stands very close to the Odeón de la Plaza. People came to congratulate us, to ask for information, and to share experiences. There were three or four people who were hostile, but that did not affect us. We talked with passers-by, distributed brochures, and made new friends.
