September 4, 2005 WHO: Affirmation San Francisco Bay Area Chapter WHAT: Dinner and After-Dinner Activities WHEN: Friday September 16th, 6:00pm WHERE: Home of Dale & Mike, San Francisco One of our chapter members, Ivann Albanes, who is originally from Guatemala, has volunteered to instruct us all in the preparation of authentic Guatemalan foods. Among other things, with Ivann's help, together we'll all be making Empanas Guatemaltecas with a side of Escabeche, and Guatemalan guacamole. This is not a potluck; you will not need to bring any food. But, you are welcome to bring any alcohol you'd like to drink or share. Following the dinner, the group will have two options for those who'd like to stay in the City and partake of the night-life. First, Dale informs us that the Bay Area Gay Rodeo is happening -- that night there is the Western Warehouse Country Dance ($10). Those interested can go to the dance. Alternatively, a group of us will be going to a drag show. Ivann may even transform himself into his alter-ego "Ivanna Mann" and may be performing at said drag show. This will happen at Aunt Charley's, at about 10:30pm or so. The show is free, but performers work for and appreciate tips.
