September Dawn is a love story set against the background of the Mountain Meadows Massacre. On September 11, 1857, Mormon settlers, with the help of Paiute Indians, killed a company of 130 non-Mormon pioneers who were traveling through Southern Utah. The massacre is considered one of the bloodiest and most controversial episodes in Mormon history. September Dawn opens in theatres across the U.S. on June 22, 2007.
