Join other LGBT Mormons, their family members, friends and church leaders for a regional Affirmation conference in Southern Florida January 30 – February 1st. The theme is “Relaxation and Inspiration.” Fort Myers is a historic city sitting on a large river and close to remarkable beaches and a host of islands. REGISTER HERE
Our conference will begin Friday evening with an outdoor dinner and program on the Harbour and include some initial get-to-know-you activities.
Saturday morning we will have a few workshops and a keynote by the inspring Carson Tueller! (See bio at bottom of page)

Saturday afternoon people will have the option of going as a group to Fort Myers beach where we can swim, soak in the sun, ride bikes, etc. We will eat dinner out that night (each person responsible for payment) at the city’s Sunset Festival in the town square next to the beach and the pier, which will have live music, food, etc. A fun way to interact with each other in a tropical culture.
Sunday morning we will have an outdoor devotional/testimony & spiritual story sharing meeting to conclude the conference. All are invited free of charge to attend the Sunday morning devotional/testimony & spiritual story sharing meeting.

Our beautiful venue for the Florida Conference is the Legacy Harbour Hotel in the middle of historic downtown Fort Myers. We have two types of rooms available for those travelling: Standard rooms at $129 a night and Waterfront rooms at $149 a night. Feel free to share the cost with a roommate! Our workshops and meetings will also be held in the hotel’s covered outdoor conference area. This hotel is in walking distance to a park and dozens of shops and is close to the major roadways, so it’s easy to find!

We will have people who can help pick you up from the airport, or you can rent a car, take a shuttle, etc.
Other options are to fly into Tampa, Miami, or Fort Lauderdale and drive 2 hours to Fort Myers.
ABOUT OUR KEYNOTE: Carson Tueller
Carson Tueller is a member of an active LDS Air Force military family and grew up in many states across the country. After serving a full-time LDS mission in Chile, Concepcion he attended Weber State University and studied music performance privately in Salt Lake City.
On December 30th, 2013 Carson’s plans and goals were interrupted by an accident that broke his neck and injured his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Since his accident, Carson has spent hundreds of hours in physical therapy to maximize his recovery. Though this recovery has been glacially slow, Carson is determined to defy the odds of his injury and does all within his power to do what he did before.
He spends his time striving to regain his musical and athletic abilities, and is looking forward to competing nationally and internationally in Paralympic competition. Among other things, Carson is passionate about changing the environment surrounding LGBT Mormons and endeavors to advocate whenever possible. Carson continues his recovery at home with his parents and 4 younger siblings in Layton, Utah.
