Nac\u00ed dentro de las convenciones de la doctrina mormona. Testifiqu\u00e9 el primer domingo del mes. Particip\u00e9 en todas las Primarias y las Mujeres J\u00f3venes.<\/p>\n<p>Mis padres se separaron cuando yo todav\u00eda estaba en la escuela primaria. En ese momento no pod\u00eda entender lo que estaba pasando entre mis padres. Nos quedamos con mi mam\u00e1 y mi pap\u00e1 vino a visitarnos.<\/p>\n<p>Hubo un per\u00edodo en nuestras vidas en el que mi hermana y yo nos fuimos a vivir con pap\u00e1. Siempre nos dec\u00eda que fu\u00e9ramos a la iglesia. Siempre se levantaba temprano los domingos, nos preparaba el desayuno y nos llevaba a la puerta de la Iglesia, pero no entraba. Siempre me pregunt\u00e9 por qu\u00e9 mi padre, que siempre animaba a la gente a ir a la iglesia, a orar y a leer las Escrituras, no entraba a la iglesia con otras personas los domingos.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando ten\u00eda 10 u 11 a\u00f1os, mi mam\u00e1 decidi\u00f3 decirnos que nuestro pap\u00e1 era gay. Parec\u00eda extra\u00f1o que no nos lo dijera \u00e9l mismo, pero eso no cambi\u00f3 mucho nuestra relaci\u00f3n. El era nuestro padre. Dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s se reuni\u00f3 con mi hermana y yo para hablar y con gran dificultad nos dijo lo que ya sab\u00edamos.<\/p>\n<p>Al principio, el hecho de que mi padre fuera gay no era un problema. Lo dif\u00edcil empez\u00f3 cuando mi madre tambi\u00e9n decidi\u00f3 salir del armario cuando decidi\u00f3 casarse con otra mujer. Eso fue como un diluvio de agua fr\u00eda. \u00bfC\u00f3mo puedo tener los dos padres homosexuales? \u00bfHab\u00eda hecho algo mal? \u00bfDios me estaba castigando?<\/p>\n<p>No tuve mucho coraje para hablar con la gente sobre esto. Segu\u00ed siendo fiel en la Iglesia y ten\u00eda un gran deseo de servir en una misi\u00f3n, al igual que lo hizo mi padre. Sent\u00ed que hab\u00eda tomado la decisi\u00f3n correcta de prepararme para una misi\u00f3n de tiempo completo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-20065 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/affirmation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/pai-e-filhan-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/affirmation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/pai-e-filhan-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/affirmation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/pai-e-filhan.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pero en 2015, la Iglesia emiti\u00f3 una pol\u00edtica de no permitir que los hijos de parejas homosexuales se bauticen a menos que tengan 18 a\u00f1os, rechacen la relaci\u00f3n de sus padres y se muden de su hogar. Eso fue como un cuchillo en mi coraz\u00f3n porque amaba a mis padres. No pod\u00eda repudiarlos. Sin embargo, tambi\u00e9n ten\u00eda el gran deseo de servir al Se\u00f1or en una misi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo podr\u00eda tomar esta decisi\u00f3n de vida? \u00bfC\u00f3mo podr\u00eda dejar atr\u00e1s todo lo que quer\u00eda y amaba? Despu\u00e9s de pensarlo mucho, decid\u00ed que no pod\u00eda servir en una misi\u00f3n de tiempo completo. \u00bfC\u00f3mo podr\u00eda ense\u00f1arle a la gente que la homosexualidad es un error, un pecado, ya que mis padres eran homosexuales y hab\u00edan encontrado la felicidad en sus vidas? El amor que siempre me hab\u00edan dado mis padres, y con todo lo que hab\u00eda aprendido, mi decisi\u00f3n no fue tan dif\u00edcil. Apoyo completamente a mis padres. Los amo. Ellos son mi fundamento. S\u00e9 que no han hecho nada malo. Simplemente siguieron sus corazones para encontrar la felicidad.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-20066 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/affirmation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/128n-e1537283083355.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"206\" height=\"125\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Estoy muy orgulloso de mis padres. No los cambiar\u00eda por nada en esta vida. Soy la prueba viviente de que tener padres homosexuales no te convierte en homosexual. Soy heterosexual y 100% apoyo a las personas LGBT. Soy miembro de Afirmaci\u00f3n, junto a mi padre.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy estoy orgulloso de mis padres. No se los escondo a nadie. No creo que se nos haya privado de las bendiciones de nuestro Padre Celestial.
