Hace unos a\u00f1os, emitieron una pol\u00edtica que dec\u00eda que si un miembro LGBT que est\u00e1 casado tiene hijos, sus hijos no pueden ser bautizados en la iglesia o bendecidos en la iglesia hasta que ese ni\u00f1o cumpla 18 a\u00f1os y esencialmente repudie a sus padres. Tambi\u00e9n declar\u00f3 que si eres un miembro LGBT y te casas, estar\u00edas, esencialmente, en excomuni\u00f3n y considerado ap\u00f3stata. Hoy, 3 1\/2 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, cambiaron eso y ya no tienen esas restricciones para los miembros LGBT. En ese momento dijeron que era una revelaci\u00f3n de Dios. Algunos creyeron que era m\u00e1s una pol\u00edtica temporal. Ahora dicen que esta pol\u00edtica ya no existe.<\/p>\n<p>Para m\u00ed, como miembro de toda mi vida cuya familia pas\u00f3 de Europa a los Estados Unidos con los pioneros mormones, que llegaron por el Camino Morm\u00f3n al oeste de los Estados Unidos, este es un gran paso en la direcci\u00f3n correcta. Me alegra que esto est\u00e9 sucediendo y que los l\u00edderes tuvieran la mente abierta al decir que no iban a estar anclados en una idea que surgieron hace solo unos a\u00f1os y que obviamente no estaba funcionando. Me alegro de que est\u00e9n abiertos a eso.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de la universidad, cuando me un\u00ed a Goldman Sachs, no era una persona gay. Cuando me un\u00ed a la empresa, me di cuenta de lo que significaba estar en una organizaci\u00f3n inclusiva y solidaria. Una de las razones por las que sal\u00ed del armario fue porque me sent\u00eda muy c\u00f3modo en Goldman Sachs. No solo estaban abiertos a que las personas fueran homosexuales, sino que tambi\u00e9n te animaban a salir del armario. Cre\u00edan que en lugar de tratar de vivir una doble vida o tratar de no dar una imagen completa de ti mismo en el trabajo, preferir\u00edan ver qui\u00e9n eres y que ser\u00edas una persona m\u00e1s productiva en el lugar de trabajo si estuvieras completamente libre. y abierto. Me di cuenta de lo poderoso que es poder estar abierto y c\u00f3modo en una organizaci\u00f3n y sentir ese apoyo.<\/p>\n<p>El anuncio del 4 de abril de 2019 ciertamente no es un anuncio de apoyo para las personas LGBT o un anuncio de que debes salir y sentirte bienvenido siendo gay en la iglesia. No lo es. La iglesia todav\u00eda no cree que pueda tener una relaci\u00f3n entre personas del mismo sexo y ser uno con la pol\u00edtica de la iglesia. Esencialmente, uno con Dios; que simplemente no funciona y no es posible. No son de apoyo. Pero han pasado de tener una pol\u00edtica espec\u00edfica contra el matrimonio homosexual y los hijos que provienen del matrimonio homosexual a una en la que ahora son m\u00e1s neutrales, o como lo eran hace unos a\u00f1os antes de que esta pol\u00edtica entrara en vigor.<\/p>\n<p>Es un paso positivo, y as\u00ed lo veo yo. Habr\u00e1 muchos comentarios por ah\u00ed, y quer\u00eda publicar mis comentarios tambi\u00e9n de que es un paso positivo en la direcci\u00f3n correcta. No es como trabajar en Goldman Sachs, donde realmente afirman a las personas LGBT y quieren que est\u00e9s abierto y te apoye completamente. No es eso.
