Casi me emocion\u00e9 hasta las l\u00e1grimas al reflexionar sobre el a\u00f1o pasado de integrarme nuevamente en mi comunidad de fe mormona. Ha pasado casi un a\u00f1o desde que decid\u00ed regresar a la iglesia SUD aut\u00e9nticamente como un hombre gay en una relaci\u00f3n. Estoy abrumado por la efusi\u00f3n de amor que siento a medida que el liderazgo y la membres\u00eda me han entretejido nuevamente en la estructura del compa\u00f1erismo.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando regres\u00e9 a la iglesia por primera vez y le cont\u00e9 mi historia al obispo, \u00e9l dijo: \u201cNo soy un guardi\u00e1n del Se\u00f1or. Mi papel es llevar a la gente a Cristo. Contin\u00fae viniendo y espero que se sienta bienvenido aqu\u00ed &quot;. No se menciona la disciplina o los tribunales de la iglesia, sino un inter\u00e9s genuino en mi bienestar individual y crecimiento espiritual.<\/p>\n<p>Esos primeros meses fueron dif\u00edciles ya que luch\u00e9 con pensamientos internos como, &quot;\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 querr\u00edas adorar con personas que probablemente no te quieren all\u00ed?&quot; o &quot;En alg\u00fan momento se volver\u00e1n contra ti y te excomulgar\u00e1n&quot;. Me compromet\u00ed y decid\u00ed probar que estas declaraciones internas eran falsas, y as\u00ed ha sido el caso. Todos los estereotipos anteriores que ten\u00eda sobre c\u00f3mo los mormones me responder\u00edan se han roto.<\/p>\n<p>Aproximadamente seis meses despu\u00e9s de regresar, el obispo me invit\u00f3 a servir como pianista principal, seguido unos meses m\u00e1s tarde con una invitaci\u00f3n para ayudar a administrar el programa de tutor\u00eda de la iglesia en el centro de la ciudad, y luego una invitaci\u00f3n para hablar en la reuni\u00f3n sacramental el D\u00eda del Padre. \u00a1Mis maestros orientadores recientemente asignados (esposo y esposa) tambi\u00e9n han sido muy acogedores y est\u00e1n ansiosos por conocer a mi otra mitad!<\/p>\n<p>Me doy cuenta de que soy muy afortunado de vivir en un \u00e1rea muy progresista de la Iglesia y que las experiencias de los mormones homosexuales en todo el mundo difieren enormemente. Lloro cuando escucho historias en otras \u00e1reas de este pa\u00eds y del mundo donde los mormones homosexuales son inmediatamente disciplinados, maltratados o incluso expulsados de sus iglesias y hogares. Si yo fuera un \u00e1ngel y tuviera el deseo de mi coraz\u00f3n, saldr\u00eda y hablar\u00eda con la trompeta de Dios y dejar\u00eda que todos mis hermanos y hermanas mormones homosexuales y sus familias sepan que\u00a0<b>Dios los ama<\/b>. Dejar\u00eda que todos los obispos vean c\u00f3mo me ha tratado mi obispo.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Tengo un sue\u00f1o<\/i><\/b>\u00a0que alg\u00fan d\u00eda los mormones LGBT que quieran el mormonismo y la Iglesia SUD como parte de su camino espiritual se sentir\u00e1n bienvenidos en cada Barrio SUD en todo el mundo. En mi sue\u00f1o, los veo contribuyendo con sus talentos y dones a la comunidad de su barrio y veo a miembros heterosexuales abri\u00e9ndoles sus hogares. Veo a la pareja gay sentados juntos en los bancos con una pareja heterosexual junto a ellos, mientras los hijos de ambos se arrastran juntos debajo del banco. Los veo hablando en la reuni\u00f3n sacramental, ayudando a cuidar a los enfermos y afligidos, guiando a los j\u00f3venes, cantando en el coro y recibiendo y dando visitas de orientaci\u00f3n familiar. Los veo usando su comprensi\u00f3n de lo que se siente ser un paria como un b\u00e1lsamo para tender la mano y ayudar al m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o de los hijos de Dios.
