John Gustav-Wrathall recibe el premio Mortensen 2014<\/p><\/div>\n

El mayor honor de Afirmaci\u00f3n es el Premio Mortensen. El premio se entrega cada a\u00f1o en nuestra conferencia anual a un miembro de Afirmaci\u00f3n que ha servido a la organizaci\u00f3n con un liderazgo y servicio sobresalientes durante el a\u00f1o pasado. Cualquiera puede nominar a un posible destinatario. El comit\u00e9 de decisi\u00f3n del Premio Mortensen est\u00e1 compuesto por todos los ex ganadores del Premio Mortensen. El premio lleva el nombre de Paul Mortensen, uno de los fundadores de Affirmation.<\/p>\n

John ha estado sirviendo a la comunidad LGBT mormona desde que comenz\u00f3 su Blog de Young Stranger<\/em><\/a> hace casi una d\u00e9cada. Cientos, si no miles, de mormones LGBT, familiares y amigos, han le\u00eddo este blog y, como lo expres\u00f3 un morm\u00f3n LGBT, "\u00a1leerlo ha salvado muchas vidas!"<\/p>\n

John se involucr\u00f3 m\u00e1s activamente en Afirmaci\u00f3n como orador principal en la conferencia de 2011 en el Templo de Kirtland. Luego sirvi\u00f3 en una capacidad de respaldo para el Comit\u00e9 Ejecutivo en 2012 y sirvi\u00f3 en el comit\u00e9 de la conferencia de Seattle 2012. Se convirti\u00f3 en vicepresidente senior de Affirmation en 2013 y continu\u00f3 en ese puesto durante 2014. John tambi\u00e9n dirigi\u00f3 la planificaci\u00f3n del exitoso Retiro de Liderazgo de Nauvoo de este a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Como vicepresidente senior, ha sido un l\u00edder constante y confiable y hacedor de Afirmaci\u00f3n, desde el desarrollo de comunicados de prensa, contenido de sitios web, acorralando a una variedad de escritores para que escriban para nosotros y desarrollando otras comunicaciones. Ha organizado m\u00faltiples marchas en el desfile del orgullo de las ciudades gemelas.<\/p>\n

John tambi\u00e9n ha establecido relaciones importantes con los funcionarios de la Iglesia SUD a nivel local y de la sede. Sus viajes a Chicago incluyeron ayudar a apoyar al cap\u00edtulo con sus eventos de di\u00e1logo con el liderazgo de la Estaca Chicago. Su actividad en su barrio y estaca ha demostrado a varios l\u00edderes SUD locales el valor de tener mormones homosexuales en las bancas.<\/p>\n
