Affirmation Chicago Presents: Winter Solace (Online Event)

Was the holiday season stressful for you? Do you just need a place to unwind after all the shopping, presents and family? Well, get ready for something totally different. Not a family home evening, but a time to find connection, support, and joy after the holiday season with a night of gentle empowering music, meditation, and just peace with the first-ever Affirmation Chicago Presents an online outreach from the Affirmation Chicago Chapter to the worldwide Affirmation community.

The program will consist of three parts themed around our mission statement values of connection, support, and joy. The program is as follows:

I. Connection

A. Gathering Song – Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky
B. Welcome and Introductions( A General Welcome and people are invited but not obligated to do a short introduction with pronouns)
C. Menorah Meditation by Karl Malchut

II. Support

A. Song-Silent Night, Instrumental
B.Virtual Burning Bowl Ritual
C. Responsive Reading- Celebrating G-d’s Unconditional Love for All by Reverend Beverley Saunders, From Many Voices: A Black Church Movement for Gay and Transgender Justice

III. Joy

A. Song- “Those were the Nights” by the Yeshiva Boys Choir
B. A Sacrament of Affirmations
C. Closing Song- Siyahmba

IV. Linger Longer

A. For those wanting to linger longer, all are welcome
