Sharing Insights on Sensitive Lessons in the 2015 Church Curriculum
abril 4, 2015
The 2015 curriculum from lds.org for Sunday classes at church has been reviewed by Richard Keys, the newest member of our Leadership Team, for any lessons with significant or sensitive matters to LGBT members, families, and friends. The review includes manuals and study guides for the Melchizedek Priesthood, Relief Society, Gospel Doctrine class, Youth Sunday School, Aaronic Priesthood, and Young Women.
During the month prior to a particular lesson scheduled to be taught, we will seek your insights and suggestions in our Facebook group. You may either post your comments there or email them directly to Rich at [email protected] These will then be reviewed and published in the weekly email Messenger newsletter, in our Facebook group, and on the Ideas for 2015 Church Curriculum webpage prior to the scheduled date of the lesson. You may then wish to use them in class discussions or for your own personal study.
As these comments may be used beyond our group, they will remain anonymous. However, in order to build bridges and teach by the Spirit, please keep your comments constructive. If you wish to share a quote, please cite the specific source, including author, title, date, etc. This will help build credibility if we are asked for the source in class, and it may also promote further study by class members or ourselves.
Hopefully, these ideas will trigger additional insights between the Spirit and each of us, thereby bringing us closer to a unity of the faith.
