Nossa \u00faltima viagem juntos foi aben\u00e7oada. Foi um tempo bem gasto com minha m\u00e3e (j\u00e1 falecida) visitando todos os locais da Igreja SUD perto de Palmyra, Nova York.<\/p>\n

Em um lindo dia de outono, minha m\u00e3e e eu visitamos o Bosque Sagrado para obter inspira\u00e7\u00e3o e respostas para nossas ora\u00e7\u00f5es. Enquanto caminhava pelo local onde Joseph Smith teve uma vis\u00e3o, eu esperava ter o esp\u00edrito de Deus comigo. Quando o terreno estava silencioso e nenhum visitante estava presente, n\u00f3s dois nos ajoelhamos no centro do Bosque Sagrado para orar humildemente. Minha m\u00e3e me pediu para fazer a ora\u00e7\u00e3o em voz alta e nos demos as m\u00e3os.<\/p>\n

Eu perguntei em minha ora\u00e7\u00e3o se Deus me aceitava como gay e se \u00e9 pecado ser gay, j\u00e1 que fui excomungado da Igreja SUD. Uma presen\u00e7a avassaladora do Esp\u00edrito de Deus caiu sobre mim. N\u00e3o, eu n\u00e3o tive uma vis\u00e3o ou algo assim, mas me senti extremamente em paz e senti um amor doce e caloroso presente.<\/p>\n

Anteriormente, v\u00e1rias vezes a igreja tentou me \u201cconsertar\u201d ou me curar de ser gay por meio de terapia e quase me afastando de minha fam\u00edlia. Sem mencionar que recebi o livro \u201cMilagres do Perd\u00e3o\u201d para ler. N\u00e3o pude deixar de sentir que, de alguma forma, estaria melhor morto do que vivo. Ent\u00e3o, em profunda depress\u00e3o, tentei acabar com minha vida por suic\u00eddio.<\/p>\n

Fiquei com o cora\u00e7\u00e3o partido pela Igreja SUD me rejeitando em vez de me aceitar. Eu experimentei uma sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de grande pesar em toda a minha alma. Como meus irm\u00e3os e irm\u00e3s poderiam se afastar de mim em minha hora mais sombria?<\/p>\n

Quando terminei a ora\u00e7\u00e3o, minha m\u00e3e e eu est\u00e1vamos com l\u00e1grimas nos olhos. Sa\u00edmos lentamente do Bosque Sagrado e n\u00e3o conversamos. N\u00f3s dois sentimos o mesmo amor em nossos cora\u00e7\u00f5es. Ao sair do Bosque Sagrado, n\u00f3s dois notamos esta folha ca\u00edda no ch\u00e3o. Era gigantesco e lindo. Ent\u00e3o, peguei e levei para casa comigo em mem\u00f3ria daquele dia. Ainda hoje tenho a folha pendurada na parede como um lembrete do amor de Deus e, no entanto, do amor de minha m\u00e3e e de sua aceita\u00e7\u00e3o de mim como seu filho gay.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
