2024 International Conference
Breakout sessions provide a unique opportunity for those within the LGBTQIA+ Latter-day Saint community to share their experience and knowledge with conference attendees. We are seeking proposals for workshops, presentations, panel discussions, and short “AffirmTalks” talks. The application is open through August 31st.
Interested in helping to make this year’s Affirmation International Conference a success as a subcommittee member or subcommittee director? Subcommittees include breakout sessions, affinity groups, decorations, volunteers, youth track, parents and allies track, and more.
This role will work with the Executive Committee and Conference Planning Committee to plan and execute a successful conference with the aim that the conference provides spaces of safety, love, and hope for the LGBTQIA+ community inclusive of all along the spectrums of sexual orientation, gender identity, belief, and relationship with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Presented annually at the annual conference of Affirmation, the Mortensen Award recognizes members of Affirmation whose leadership and commitment to service in Affirmation have made a real difference in the lives of those within the LGBTQIA+ Latter-day Saint community and contributed significantly toward Affirmation’s mission.
This year’s conference will be held at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center in Ogden, Utah, from October 11th through the 13th. This year’s theme, Joyful Authencity, is about celebrating the profound joy of embracing our true selves as LGBTQIA+ individuals. Registration for the conference is $175 per person through September 1st. Registration increases to $195 per person on September 2nd. Youth and virtual registration options and scholarships are also available.
