Fred Bowers is the only candidate to file a statement to run for President of Affirmation in a special election called after the resignation of Melissa-Malcolm King. He has nominated Joel McDonald and David Doyle as his vice presidents.

Following the announcement of the adoption of changes to the Affirmation Bylaws and Constitution, a call for presidential candidates was made during the 2018 Affirmation International Conference. The following is the plan for the 2018 Affirmation presidential election.

Carson Tueller Elected to Serve as President of Affirmation for 2018

The results of the Affirmation presidential election were certified November 20th by the election committee. Carson Tueller received the majority of votes and will be the next president of Affirmation. Tueller, a part-time university student and self-employed private music instructor, will serve as a one-year term starting on January 1st, 2018. The Affirmation Board will meet shortly to also certify the election results and to confirm Carson’s vice presidential choices.

Annual Affirmation Elections Approaching

Affirmation is led by an Executive Committee consisting of a President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President, in conjunction with a Board of Directors. The President is directly elected by all current members and the two Vice Presidents are appointed by the President. November is the month for our annual elections.
