Prior to his election as president, Nathan served a member of Affirmation’s board of directors and is the co-founder of Fathers in Affirmation, the organization’s GBT+ group for fathers. Last year, he took on a leading role in helping to develop Affirmation’s suicide prevention initiative.
We denounce any intention to erase rights and protections of transgender, queer, and intersex persons. We are sharing the voices of transgender individuals involved with Affirmation so that their voices are heard as no person must ever be threatened with erasure.
Affirmation recently held its first conference in Spain. The conference ran from September 21st to the 23rd in Barcelona. During the conference, the first Affirmation chapter in Spain was organized. Rafael Bravo has been appointed as president of the Affirmation Spain Chapter.
After listening to the opening session of conference, it seems the church is closing ranks even more, focusing on the active members, the covenant keepers, the faithful families, and ignoring even the inactives or others who don’t exactly fit the mold.

Sejamos um como brasileiros e LGBT, para que possamos ter um país de união, tolerância e respeito e que sejamos como os grandes homens e mulheres do passado que lutaram para que nós hoje pudéssemos ter nossos direitos respeitados e os que venham continuem os tendo.
Não podemos deixar que os nossos entes queridos, ocupem o nosso lugar no armário, temos nós, como de conhecimento ajudá-los a entender este processo, precisamos ter paciência e saber que eles assim como nós tivemos o nosso tempo de nos aceitar, eles terão o tempo deles
