International Conference Committee

Conference Subcommittees(Required)

Subcommittees will meet outside of Conference Planning Committee meetings to coordinate their work. Subcommittees are led by a director, who will facilitate subcommittee meetings and represent and report on the committee's work at Conference Planning Committee meetings. Short-Term Project Application Introduction

Project teams will meet independently to complete focused tasks within a set timeframe. Each team is led by a project lead, who facilitates meetings and reports progress to the Executive Committee and/or Operations & Strategy Lead. Some teams may have responsibilities during the conference or leading up to key deadlines.

Board and committee members are vital in raising funds for our organization. It is an expectation that all board and committee members will introduce people in your sphere of influence to our work and invite them to know and do more–as prospective volunteers, board members, staff, and donors. Our organization commits to providing you with the information and tools necessary for you to stand as a vocal and visible ambassador for our work.

Further, we expect every board and committee member to make an annual financial commitment for each year of board service. Board members should give an amount that is meaningful to them. For some people, it is $10,000. To the person the next seat over, it could be $100. But everyone should give something each year, even if it is only $1. No board or committee member is entitled to know what another gives. Each board or committee member knows that everyone is expected to give something.

Time(Required)

Board service is a true commitment of time and energy. Board service could be a monthly commitment of 4 to 8 hours, including service on board committees. In addition, every board member should attend our annual conference in person.
