Affirmation Women Share Experiences, Build Friendships

Monday November 11 was the first Women of Affirmation phone-in home evening. It was a small call with only 6 women, but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in enthusiasm. Each participant of the call had attended the Affirmation conference in Utah and enjoyed time to catch up and deepen our friendships.

We started with a prayer and moved on into sharing highlights of our lives, current adventures, struggles and love conquests! We extend support and encouragement as well as celebrate and laugh together. The highlight of the night was when Karin and Tawnya serenaded us with “Where Love Is.” Karen’s beautiful voice and Tawnya’s accompaniment on the piano brought a sweet spirit of beauty, lightness and love. I for one was completely swept away and am very thankful they shared that with us. We also took time to reflect upon President Uchtdorf’s statement: “Our destiny is not determined by the number of times we stumble but by the number of times we rise up, dust ourselves off, and move forward.”

The Women of Affirmation phone-in home evening will be on the second Monday of each month. Next month’s theme is “Moments of Victory.” Callers are encouraged to come prepared with something to share from your own life or any inspiration source.

Affirmation needs for the women to rise up and ban together! All women are encouraged to join the Women of Affirmation Facebook Group (secret) too have easy access to the call in number and continue building relationships with each other. We can be much closer and hopefully the monthly call will be a means to building strong friendships and sense of community amongst the women of Affirmation.
