Affirmation Pioneer Day Picnic

You are invited to join Affirmation LGBT Mormons, Families and Friends, to socialize and celebrate equality and acceptance, with a picnic at historic Fort Ward Park in Alexandria.

Come enjoy the great outdoors and fellowship in a green, shady oasis with facilities and easy parking.  We will have grilled hamburgers and hotdogs – feel free to bring something of your own to grill or if you have special dietary needs.  Please bring side dishes or other food to share. This is the same location the picnic has been held in for many years.

Even if you have other plans, just drop by to socialize for a while. The event will only be cancelled for prolonged, severe weather.  Call or text Olin (703-864-5527) if you need an update. Guests of all types are welcome! Bring friends from Church or LGBT friends.  Bring the kids! You can also bring your dog (especially if he/she is better behaved than the kids!)

We’ll have a cooler of cold bottled water & other drinks and clean ice that can be used to chill your own drinks and I plan to bring a watermelon also. Bring your favorite picnic items and any camp chairs or portable tables you might have so we can be comfortable.

The past two years have been so isolating and disappointing.  We had to cancel our beloved Thanksgiving Potluck and the Affirmation Conference had to move on-line.  It would be wonderful to see people live and in person again.  This is an excellent venue for that to happen safely.   Hope you come!
