Affirmation is led by an Executive Committee consisting of a President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President, in conjunction with a Board of Directors. The President is directly elected by all current members and the two Vice Presidents are appointed by the President. November is the month for our annual elections.
I received spiritual insights, bit by bit, teaching me and giving me peace and understanding. Being gay would not keep me from becoming the man God wanted me to be. I now believe that it is only the gay me, not some imaginary straight me, that will be able to do and become what he is supposed to in this life.
This is the first time a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was invited to serve on the National Religious Colloquy panel, discussing the state of the church with relation to the LGBT community
Just as the New York Times recently called Taiwan a “beacon” for gays in Asia, I am hopeful the church here will become the same thing for Latter-day Saints in other Asian areas.
