Members of Affirmation Venezuela participated in a beautiful activity full of joy, creativity, color, and fun. The workshop, titled “The Value of Friendship,” was conducted by a family therapist and friend to Affirmation, Yris Ruiz Piñeiro, and focused on reinforcing the value and importance of lasting friendships.

Many participating reflected on the value of our so-called “chosen family,” which often are our friends within the LGBTQIA+ community. Often, those from our chosen family are with us in our most challenging moments. As part of the workshop, members expressed themselves via the colorful dynamic of art therapy in an activity called “Painting My Heart.”

This creative experience allowed all to express their experiences and beliefs about the value and impact of true friendship in their lives. The beautiful art created was exchanged among friends. While those within Affirmation Venezuela celebrate friendship every day as an invaluable gift from our Heavenly Father, we recognize that this was a unique opportunity to celebrate this transcendent gift, as friendship is the salt of life.
