Dear Affirmation Community,

We want to share an important update about this year’s Affirmation General Conference.

After thoughtful review and in order to steward our resources wisely, the Executive Committee has decided to postpone the October 18 virtual conference and blend it with our November Gratitude Gathering. This shift allows us to bring our global community together in one strong, unified event while we await the release of Carpenter Foundation funds.

New Plan: Rooted and Rising + Gratitude Gathering

Date: Weekend of November 8–9 (final day/time to be announced soon)
Format: A ~3.5-hour virtual program including:

  • Welcome & Theme Setting (Rooted in our past, Rising toward our future)

  • Anchor Story / Short Keynote

  • Spotlight Stories (5–7 minute personal stories of resilience, hope, and community)

  • Story Circles (interactive breakout groups)

  • Collective Gratitude Ritual (shared words of thanks, music, and reflection)

  • Closing Story & Community Ritual

Theme: Rooted and Rising: Resilience, Storytelling, and Community Connection
Registration: Free

Chapter Gatherings

  • U.S. Chapters: Continue our Thanksgiving-style potlucks and community gatherings.

  • International Chapters: Host local Gratitude & Community Gatherings that reflect your cultures and traditions.

  • Global Virtual Gathering: Unites us with stories, gratitude, and reflection accessible worldwide.

Why this change?

  • Financial stewardship — ensures we operate responsibly while awaiting key funding.

  • Community focus — one strong program where inspiration and belonging meet.

  • Inclusivity — gratitude resonates across cultures, not only in the U.S.

We know many of you look forward to our conference every year, and we believe this adjustment makes space for even deeper connection, storytelling, and resilience at a time when our community needs it most.

Stay tuned for the finalized November date and registration details — and save the weekend of November 8–9 now!

With gratitude and hope,
