LGBTQIA+ Support at General Conference Time
Dear LGBTQIA+ Mormons, Families, and Friends:
We acknowledge that the General Conference can evoke strong emotions for many in our community. If you are struggling, please know you are not alone. We encourage everyone to be attentive to one another and to reach out in support and care. Affirmation exists to provide connection, processing, and healing in the ways our people most need.
What resources are available?
Affirmation has chapters and contacts in many places, though our leadership is entirely volunteer-based and varies from area to area. Even where local leaders or moderators may not currently be active, you are always welcome to connect through:
- Our website (affirmation.org) — with stories, information, and resources.
- Our Facebook groups — safe spaces to share your feelings, questions, and encouragement.
- Our YouTube channel — featuring inspiring talks and personal stories from past Affirmation conferences.
Where leaders are present, they help coordinate care and connection. Where they are not, your presence and voice still matter. Sometimes simply reaching out — posting a thought, sending a message, or sharing your story — helps others know they are not alone.
Although we may be spread across the world, our mutual care and concern can unite us in a circle of love and belonging.
