2021 International Conference Theme and Logo Contest
April 8, 2021
Affirmation: LGBTQ Mormons, Families & Friends is pleased to announce the theme for our 2021 Affirmation International Conference: Lighting the World Together.
“As the Conference Planning Committee discussed possible themes for this year’s conference, the idea of light providing hope, safety, and connectivity to the worldwide LGBTQIA+ Latter-day Saint community felt like an appropriate focus for this year’s conference,” shared Affirmation President Nathan Kitchen. “This year’s theme contrasts the despair, danger, and isolation so many have felt over the past year as we’ve endured a global pandemic. We want this year’s conference to be a light in that darkness and a beacon for all LGBTQIA+ current and former Latter-day Saints and their families and friends to gather to and find the safety, love, and hope that Affirmation creates.”
Conference Logo Design Contest
Along with the announcement of the conference theme is also an invitation for graphic artists to contribute their talents to the through a conference logo design contest.
“As a worldwide community, there are many talented individuals in Affirmation. We should take every opportunity to showcase that talent and ensure that Affirmation reflects the talents of our community,” said Joel McDonald, Affirmation’s director of operations. “I hope that those with talent in graphic design will take some time to consider the chosen theme for this year’s conference and use their talent to contribute to the success of this year’s event.”
Those wishing to submit a logo to the design contest have until April 30th. Additional contest details can be found at conference.affirmation.org.
