Venezuela has one of the worst human rights records on the continent. While the country owes a great debt to its vulnerable minorities, they are often the target of systemic violence and invisibility. This is especially true for the transgender community, who are increasingly questioned and rejected in society.

On March 31, Affirmation Venezuela joined with other organizations to commemorate the International Transgender Day of Visibility. In this joint effort with Ciudiver, Somosvzla, and OKno, Affirmation mobilized to advocate for legal rights for transgender individuals and delivered a proclamation to local and national authorities. This is just a step in the process toward legal recognition of the dignity of these valuable children of Our heavenly Father who contribute so much to our country and the world.
