Affirmation Venezuela visits the LGBTQI+ Community Center of Mérida
Many united voices, to the clamor of the same feeling, are the key to success when you want to achieve the necessary changes for the construction of a more just and egalitarian world, in which life is not the price to pay for being or feeling different. . This is precisely the premise that mobilizes the SOMOS movement, which converges in a beautiful space, full of light, color, but above all, respect, dignity, recognition and vindication; the only LGBTQI+ community home in the country, which is located in the heart of the capital of Merida, and whose example rises with great pride, in style, like the imposing snow-capped peaks of the Andes that have seen it born.
And it is that in this incredible space, incredible initiatives are accommodated that benefit, develop and empower the members of the community in this state, whose incidence is also projected; to other regions of the country. Affirmation Venezuela witnessed these inspiring initiatives, through a scheduled visit to the center, which took place during the third week of April, in the midst of an atmosphere of friendship, cordiality and affection to welcome us.
The meetings stood out for the atmosphere of exchange of initiatives, experiences and common knowledge, around actions to demand for the community, not only in our immediate spaces, but also in the conquest of transcendental and essential rights and recognitions for dignity progressive of all of us who are a fundamental part of this country, contributing to its development, based on the immense historical contributions made over decades.
It is an enriching and significant experience, since it confirms that when we believe with faith in who we are, aware of our value, with certainty and love, all hope that seemed distant becomes reality. Reality whose impact becomes visible through those who were always invisible, but with an articulated, coherent and purposeful work, today they are becoming more invincible and unstoppable.
