Eu sou capaz de usar meus talentos de escrita, falar em público, música e meu senso de humor (meus bichinhos bobo) para ajudar as pessoas a entenderem o que significa ser gay e mórmon, e o que isso não significa, e Ele quer Eu permaneço na Igreja, onde serei mais eficaz na realização deste trabalho.
I’m able to use my talents of writing, public speaking, music, and my sense of humor (my silly critters) to help people understand what it means to be gay and Mormon, and what it doesn’t mean, and He wants me to remain in the Church where I’ll be most effective in carrying out this work.
God makes commandments. Man makes rules. However, instead of focusing on the actual commandments and letting the Spirit of God guide us in keeping them, many people seem to focus on man-made rules and policies, even when they seem to contradict God’s own commandments.
After listening to the opening session of conference, it seems the church is closing ranks even more, focusing on the active members, the covenant keepers, the faithful families, and ignoring even the inactives or others who don’t exactly fit the mold.
These days, things are a lot more complicated. It’s not just black or white anymore, although many would argue otherwise. There are hundreds of shades of gray between the black and the white, and apostles and prophets call in the lawyers to help sort it out.

All of us approach general conference in our own way, based on where we are and what is right for us. That’s between us and God or our higher power. Keep an open mind, and allow yourself the opportunity to discover something you didn’t know before that speaks truth to you. The source may surprise you.
When we make up our minds after only reading the first paragraph of a person, we miss the value of listening and learning from others and really valuing their uniqueness and what makes them special.
In today’s world, it’s so common to dig in our heels and make it an “us vs them” issue. People are no longer sitting on the same bench looking at the problem on the field. We’re on opposite sides of the field, the problem separating us, and we focus on beating the opposition instead of solving the problem.
