Kimberly Anderson Resigns as Affirmation Vice President

Kimberly Anderson

July 16, 2018

Yesterday morning, Kimberly Anderson resigned as vice president of Affirmation: LGBTQ Mormons, Families & Friends, citing deep philosophical differences about how to engage with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Board of Affirmation expresses its deep gratitude for the passion, commitment, and care with which Kimberly served. Her voice and perspectives are needed in Affirmation. We are sad for her departure, but respect her sense of how best to follow her conscience in this matter. We are better as an organization for her service.

Though Kimberly will no longer serve on the Board of Affirmation, she has agreed to fulfill her three-year commitment as a QPR trainer in Affirmation’s suicide prevention program. We are grateful for this and look forward to working with her to foster well-being, happiness, and health of LGBTQ+ Mormons.
