April 2013
Come join us for this and upcoming monthly community conversations. It is our hope that through empathy based dialogue we may come to a better understanding of one another and bring healing and possibility into our communities by engaging in civil and empathy-based discourse.
Mormons Building Bridges Presents: Community Conversations
Mormons Building Bridges announces an ongoing series of public discussions around issues of interest to the LGBT and LDS community. Every month on the same night, we will hold meetings in public libraries along the Wasatch front. Our goal is to create a safe space where individuals of all backgrounds and philosophies can come together and join in civil discourse.
April’s Question: Should the Boy Scouts of America lift the ban on LGBT individuals?
A moderator from Mormons Building Bridges will facilitate a conversation where all participants will have the opportunity to speak their truth. The evening will not be about trying to change anyone’s mind, but rather a chance to share how you approach the issue, and listen respectfully to the approaches of others. These meetings are grounded in the conviction that the human experience is complex and progress only comes when we listen, love, and seek to understand.
Please join us at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23rd, at the public library nearest you:
Logan: Ephraim Room
Salt Lake City: Main Library, Conference Room B
Park City: Room 218
Provo: Room 201
