The below flier was prepared for you to use if you would like to invite you local LDS Church Priesthood and Auxiliary Leaders to attend the Affirmation Conference. Ask for the Spirit to guide you to know if you local leader is open to receiving the invite.

This is a special Invitation for you to attend the Affirmation – LGBT Mormons, Families & Friends conference on Saturday morning, September 13 in Salt Lake City free of charge.
Please join us in attending a special session of the Affirmation Conference for church leaders. We will review current instruction for leaders regarding same-sex attraction, discuss specific same-sex attraction/LGBT challenges that occur in our wards and stakes, and explore how church leaders can make their congregations
more welcoming towards people from all backgrounds.
Reference materials for these sessions will come specifically from the most recent, official church publications and authorities, including:
• Ministering.LDS.org
• MormonsAndGays.org
• “God Loveth His Children”
We will also have a special address from Bishop Don Fletcher, former bishop in San Francisco, who has presided over hundreds of SSA/LGBT individuals during his service.
There will also be an informal discussion period for church leaders to discuss varying issues together that they face in their wards and stakes. It is anticipated that present in the discussion will be current bishops, bishopric members, stake presidency members, high councilors, ward and stake relief society presidents, young women and men leaders and many other current and former church leaders.

10:15am – 11:05am – Workshop reviewing the reference materials above and lessons learned by priesthood and auxiliary leaders who have ministered to same-sex attracted/LGBT individuals.
11:05 – 11:30 Break & Snacks
11:30am – 11:40am – Talk by Bishop Don Fletcher
There is a second opportunity to participate in the workshop form 11:40am – 12:20pm
Cost: These sessions are free of charge to church priesthood and auxiliary leaders. No registration is required.
